U15's Hurlers Qualify for North Cork Final

Wednesday 22/08/12 Venue: Killavullen Clyda Rovers 3- 15 Blackwater Rovers 2-06

The Clyda U15 hurlers qualified for the North Cork final after an impressive display against near neighbours Blackwater Rovers in Killavullen on Wednesday night last. Right from the start Clyda clicked into gear and James Buckley blasted the ball to the net in our first attack. From the puck out Colin Kelly followed up with a well taken point and after great defensive work by Ronan Flanagan, Tim Buckley cleared up the field to Colin Kelly who found James in space and he duly obliged with another point. Blackwater Rovers registered their first score from a free after 10 minutes of play before Colin Kelly added another to leave Clyda well in control at this stage. However Blackwater poached a goal from a free and followed up with 2 points to bring themselves back into the game. James added a second goal with 3 more points coming before the break from Colin Kelly and 2 from Conor Roche with Blackwater adding 1 point to leave the half time score 2-06 to 1-04. Clyda's dominance continued in the second half with Gavin Dennehy very solid in goals and Clyda added a goal and 9 points to their two points before a second late consolation goal left the final score Clyda Rovers 3-15, Blackwater Rovers 2-06. Clyda now face the winners of Kildorrery and Blackwater Rovers in the final.
