Clyda Rovers U21 2-16 Blackwater Rovers U21 1-16 (AET)
Clyda enjoyed a terrific victory over Blackwater Rovers in the semi final of the North Cork U21 B Hurling Championship in Kildorrery on Sept 11th. From the off Clyda fought hard and despite an early Blackwater Rovers goal, Clyda battled hard and by half time built up a deserved 1-10 to 1-05 lead, with the impressive Chris Buckley getting the goal. Blackwater Rovers really opened up in the second half and picked off some terrific scores. After a very entertaining final few minutes both sides were level on 1-13 each and for the third time in eight days a Clyda team had gone to extra time.
Clyda got a great start to extra time with Kenneth Fitzgerald rattled the back of the Blackwater Rovers' net. At half time Clyda held a 4 point lead. In the final ten minutes Blackwater Rovers layed seige to the Clyda goal but the defence held firm to hold out for victory on a scoreline of 2-16 to 1-16. The final is a mouth watering tie against neighbours Kilshannig.
