The Clyda Div. 3 football team finished their 2013 league campaign on 11th June with an eye catching victory over Killavullen.  This being the last game before championship to impress the Politburo the players had plenty motivation to showcase their wares.  Right from the throw in the forwards worked hard to make good use of the possession of the clean ball won by Robert Walsh and Conor Crowley at midfield and by Daniel O'Callaghan at centre forward.  First off the mark was Christy Roche with a point from a free kick.  A nice passing move then found Billy Mulcahy wide on the left and the former UL-Bohemians prop showed a keen eye for a score with a nice point from distance.  This was followed by a well taken goal by Conor Crowley and Clyda were beginning to move well.  Four pointed frees from Daniel O'Callaghan were added by well taken point from wing-back David Madden.  The half was rounded of nicely by a defence splitting run by fellow wing-back William Cronin who crashed home a thunderbolt to the back of the net.

Fresh legs at half time ensured that Clyda didn't let up the pace.  Early in the second period a great pass by Diarmuid Ronayne into the path of the season's leading goal scorer Tadhg O'Connor was duly dispatched for the night's third green flag.  Despite the one sided nature of the contest, the Clyda backs continued to work hard and Pa Forde won a great ball that resulted in a fine point from Robert Walsh. This was the cue to introduce Noel Walsh to the fray and showing no ill effects from  a recent hamstring injury, Walsh showed a deft touch to set up fellow substitute Stephen Murphy for the his side's fourth goal that put the result beyond doubt.  The final score of 4  - 9 to 1 - 6 was just reward for a fluid display that leaves the team looking forward to the upcoming championship fixture against Killdorrey.

The team lined out as follows: GearĂ³id O'Shea, Darragh Walsh, Cathal Greene, Pa Forde, David Madden, Chris O'Connell, William Cronin, Robert Walsh, Conor Crowley, Seamus Madden, Daniel O'Callaghan, Diarmuid Ronayne, Christy Roche, Billy Mulcahy, Tadhg O'Connor.Subs used: Noel Walsh, Stephen Murphy, Cian Cronin, Sean Twomey, Sean O'Connor.
