Clyda Rovers played Harbour Rovers in the quarter final of the Premier Junior A Hurling Championship in Killavullen on Sunday afternoon. The task was always going to be a tough one, with a large percentage of the panel not being available for selection this season and it proved too tough for Clyda in the end. The half time score read 1-6 to 0-6 to Harbour Rovers, Clyda never getting into gear, putting over some unforced wides. Things looked better for Clyda in the second half, with a goal from Chris Buckley and a point
from Sean O Connor levelling things. This was to be as good as it got for Clyda though. A string of unanswered points from Harbour Rovers saw them run out convincing winners in the end, 1-15 to 1-7. Thanks to coach Con O Sullivan, selectors Tadhg O Mullane and John Buckley and stats Dermot Meaney for their time and effort with the panel. TEAM: Daniel O Callaghan, Darragh Walsh, Robert Walsh, Chris Kenny, Ray Carey, Ollie O Hanlon, Gavin Carey, Conor O Sullivan, Padhraic O Mullane, Conor Flanagan, John O Hanlon, Niall O Mullane, Colin Ronayne, Chris Buckley, Sean O Connor. SUB USED: Kevin Roche for Colin Ronayne.
