Clyda Rovers 5-07 Killavullen 3-09

The Clyda Rovers under 15 hurlers replayed the semi-final of the championship on Monday last in Glantane having had a ding-dong draw the first day out. This time Killavullen started the better and led by 2 points before Ben O' Connor crashed the ball to the net after 10 minutes. It was nip and tuck for the remainder with Colin Kelly adding two pointed frees and Killavullen having 3 points to leave the score level at half time 1-02 to 5 points. . Killavullen came out fighting in the second half and roared into a 4 point lead before Clyda's work-rate began to tell and Clyda clawed their way back into the game adding 4 unanswered points to draw level again midway through the second half. Killavullen struck another goal but Clyda fought back again with a well taken goal by Matthew McEntee. Killavullen led again with another point and Clyda answered the call through a long range effort from Gavin Dennehy. Two more points from Killavullen with time almost up and it seemed like the game was slipping away before Gavin Dennehy pounced again to blast a loose ball from the edge of the square to the net. The drama wasn't finished yet however as Killavullen goaled again to lead by a point heading for injury time. However credit to these Clyda boys who never gave up and Matthew McEntee found the net again followed up with another well taken goal from Garret O'Hanlon to seal the deal.
