Clyda U15 footballers lost their county semi-final to a much stronger Cill na Martra side in Coachford last Sunday. Cill na Martra opened the scoring with a goal in the first minute and added 2 further points before Clyda got their first point through Garrett O'Hanlon. Cill na Martra scored another point to stretch their lead but Clyda were coming more into the game at this stage. Mid-way through the first half Colin Kelly picked up a return pass from Adam Walsh to billow the net for a goal for Clyda to close the gap to just two points. Unfortunately that was as close as Clyda got as four unanswered points from Cill na Martra followed by a goal on stroke of half time put Cill na Martra in a commanding lead at half-time of 2-07 to 1-01. There was no let up for Clyda on the resumption as Cill na Martra scored a goal after restart and followed up with a point. Gavin Dennehy, Colin Kelly and William Cronin points for Clyda were not enough to lead a fight-back as Cill na Martra ran out convincing winners on a final score of 3-14 to 1-05.
