Div 3 League v Ballyclough 2014-03-21 12:36:00

The Clyda Rovers Junior B team took on Ballyclough in a very evenly contested game under lights in Mourneabbey on Thursday 20th March.  Clyda had the better of the opening exchanges and Donal Stack was first on the board with a well taken point.  Clyda played some nice football in the first half but the concession of two early goals saw them chasing the game.  But they pressed hard and the first half was brought to an end by a thunderbolt from William Cronin that just went over the bar.

The second half opened brightly for Clyda and Donal Stack once again opened the scoring with a point from distance.  Clyda built some nice attacks and points from Pa Forde and Tadhg O’Connor brought the gap down to just a goal.  Then when a high raking shot from Conor O’Donoghue split the posts, Clyda went in search of the goal that could put them in front.  But Ballyclough were tough opponents and soon they were 5 points to the good again.  Clyda continued to press and when superb volley from Cian Cronin found the back of the net a winner looked to be on the cards.  However time ran out before Clyda could add to the scoreline.

The game ended with Ballyclough wining on a scoreline of 2-09 to 1-10.

The team lined out as follows:

Gearoid O’Shea, Nelius Harold, Cathal Greene, Sean O’Connor, Pa Forde, Donal O’Mullane, William Cronin, Conor O’Donoghue, Chris O’Connell, Sean Ronayne, Kyle Crowley, Donal Stack, Tadhg O’Connor, Billy Dillon, Christy Roche,
